At Parker and Crowther we believe we offer the very best in veterinary care and customer service. Like you, we are pet owners and understand the need to make your pet feel as relaxed and comfortable as we can whilst they are in our care. We are a privately run practice (not owned by a large corporate company) with surgeries in Birkdale, Churchtown, Formby and Maghull. We acquired the Formby and Maghull practices in 2011 when George Petchey retired. Ticks are benefiting from climate change, posing a threat to both human and animal health.
We are informing all of our clients what you can do to protect both your dog and yourself. It is widely reported that tick numbers are increasing. The apparent changes in seasons are also favouring the spread of ticks that were previously only found in warmer parts of the continent towards northern Europe and the UK. As well as being unpleasant for you and your dog they can also be involved in the transmission of some diseases.
